Adult ADHD Resources
Many people who know me, know that I am a fact junkie! I believe that my mother instilled the desire to learn in me at a very young age. I can spend hours on the internet researching medications, treatments, supplements, products, books, you name it, I've probably researched. Here is where you can find resources to help you through your journey. If you have any recommendations, or are an author your self, please contact me; after I have read your suggested material, I will share my opinion and add it to this ADHD and M.E.'s resource page.
Books:
Healing ADD: The Breakthrough Program That Allows You to See and Heal the 6 Types of ADD.
By: Dr. Daniel G. Amen, M.D.

My mom actually turned me on to the doctor when I was pregnant for hypnotherapy.
I purchased this for a Child Growth and Development research project in October 2013. It was the best $18 I've ever spent. You can visit his website or shop it on Amazon.com (I purchased mine on amazon). There is a quiz, and detailed accounts and descriptions of the different types of ADD and the symptoms associated with them. He also goes as far at to suggest that there are medications and treatments that work best for each type. I took the survey and could not believe how spot on it is. Its a fairly easy read. Chalked full of advice: advice on managing family, spousal relationships, impulse control, negative self talk. I suggest this book to anyone with ADHD, no matter how long ago you've been diagnosed I can guarantee that no one has explained ADD to you the way Dr. Amen can. This is the edition I purchased and read personally. In Dec. Dr Amen released a more recent version, Healing ADD... The 7 types of ADD. I have not read the most current edition but I can imagine it'd be just as informative. Anyone read it? Leave a post in the forum, and let me know what you think. |

Websites/Blogs:
ADDitudemag.com
This is my go to site for questions about ADHD. If I can't answer you on the forum, I will refer you to this site. They have information on budgeting your finances to managing your child's ADHD/ADD symptoms. Time management is a HUGE struggle in our home, this site has given plenty of tips on how to improve those skills.
I enjoy reading the Adult ADHD blogs. Medication information, descriptions, reactions, side effects, help educate so that people with ADHD aren't walking into a doctors office uninformed. Click the link below to take a look at all that Additudemag.com has to offer:
